đ¨ Abstract
In January 2025, a technological glitch caused an emergency alert to be mistakenly sent to all Los Angeles County residents instead of just those near the Kenneth Fire. The report by Rep. Robert Garcia found that the alert was properly coded but failed to save the precise location in the federal alert system. This issue, attributed to third-party vendor Genasys, led to widespread confusion.
