💨 Abstract
The South Carolina Supreme Court denied inmate Stephen Stanko's request for more information about the firing squad method of execution. Stanko, convicted of two separate murders, is scheduled to die on June 13 and must choose between firing squad, lethal injection, or the electric chair by Friday. His lawyers sought more details after a previous execution by firing squad raised concerns that the inmate might have suffered a prolonged, painful death because the bullets missed the heart.
