💨 Abstract
The Rosebud Sioux Tribe in South Dakota has declared a public safety state of emergency due to rampant methamphetamine use, drug trafficking, and gun violence. This is the tribe's third such declaration in six years, with federal law enforcement support being sought once again. The reservation has only a dozen law enforcement officers for nearly 1 million acres, a situation exacerbated by budget cuts and retention issues.
