đź’¨ Abstract
A rock climber survived a 400-foot fall in Washington's North Cascades while three companions died. The sole survivor, suffering serious injuries, hiked to his car and called for help. The group was descending the Early Winters Spires when their anchor failed. A rescue team found an old, weathered piton still attached to their ropes, suggesting it may have caused the fall. The climber was hospitalized, and authorities are investigating the incident.
