💨 Abstract

The city of Richmond, Virginia, commissioned a study revealing that an acre of its land, potentially used as a cemetery, contains hundreds of unmarked graves, possibly including Confederate soldiers from the Civil War. The survey was conducted after public scrutiny over $16,000 spent on upgrading a Confederate gravesite. Using ground-penetrating radar, the study found over 472 probable and 270 possible graves.
