💨 Abstract
A federal appeals court denied former U.S. Robert Menendez's bid for bail while he appeals his bribery conviction. Menendez, who was convicted last July, is set to report to prison soon. Prosecutors found large sums of money, gold bars, and a luxury car during an FBI search of his home. Menendez allegedly performed corrupt favors for New Jersey business owners in exchange for bribes, including protecting them from investigations and influencing foreign deals.
