💨 Abstract
Flash flooding in northern West Virginia caused by heavy rains led to three deaths and ongoing search efforts for missing individuals as rescue crews face significant infrastructure damage. Officials reported 2.5 to 4 inches of rain in a short period, resulting in substantial damage to roads, bridges, and highways, which hampered rescue efforts. Vehicles were swept away, some people sought refuge in trees, and a mobile home caught fire.
