💨 Abstract

A 4-year-old Mexican girl with short bowel syndrome, who has been receiving lifesaving medical care in Southern California, was granted humanitarian parole to remain in the U.S. for one year. The girl and her mother faced potential deportation after federal authorities initially revoked their parole. The girl's condition requires 14 hours of daily intravenous nutrition, treatment unavailable in Mexico. Her family's attorneys argue that the treatment is crucial for her survival.
