💨 Abstract
Former Minnesota House Speaker Melissa Hortman, her husband Mark, and their dog Gilbert will lie in state at the state Capitol Rotunda on Friday. They were killed in a politically motivated shooting on June 14, 2025, along with Sen. John Hoffman and his wife, Yvette. The suspect, Vance Boelter, faces murder charges and potential death penalty for targeting multiple Democrats.
