đź’¨ Abstract
A Philadelphia jury convicted Miles Pfeffer, 20, of first-degree murder and related charges for the 2023 shooting death of Temple University police officer Christopher Fitzgerald. Pfeffer, who was 18 at the time, was found guilty of intentionally shooting Fitzgerald during a struggle after a chase following a series of carjackings. Pfeffer faces life in prison, as the district attorney did not seek the death penalty despite public calls for it.
