💨 Abstract

Iran launched missile strikes on Israel in retaliation for Israeli attacks on Iranian nuclear sites and military leaders. The strikes killed three people and wounded dozens in Israel. Israel had undertaken the previous attacks to prevent Iran from building a nuclear weapon, although these claims are disputed. The escalation hampered U.S.-Iran nuclear talks. The UN Secretary-General called for an end to the attacks and a return to diplomacy. Additional waves of missiles were launched, and both countries reported damages and injuries.
