💨 Abstract
Two tropical storms, Barbara and Cosme, gained strength off Mexico’s Pacific coast. Barbara, with 70 mph winds, is forecast to become a hurricane and then weaken, potentially bringing heavy rain and flooding to coastal areas. Cosme, farther out, is expected to reach near-hurricane strength before turning northeast. Both storms pose risks of dangerous surf and rip currents.
