💨 Abstract
Ex-president Donald Trump backed Republican Jack Ciattarelli in New Jersey’s gubernatorial primary, encouraging early voting and change from Democratic control. Ciattarelli, who switched from critic to Trump supporter, pledged to end sanctuary policies if elected. He also criticized the Democratic tenure and hinted at future attacks against his eventual Democratic challenger. Early in-person voting begins Tuesday, with the primary set for June 10.
