On June 9, 2025, the U.S. imposed sanctions on two sons of incarcerated Mexican Sinaloa Cartel leader Joaquin "El Chapo" Guzman and offered up to $10 million each for their capture. Archivaldo Ivan Guzman Salazar and Jesus Alfredo Guzman Salazar are believed to be in Mexico. Additionally, sanctions were placed on the "Chapitos" faction for exporting fentanyl and engaging in drug trafficking.
