💨 Abstract
Jim Marshall, a key member of the Minnesota Vikings' famed "Purple People Eaters" defense, passed away at 87 after a long hospitalization. Marshall, drafted in 1960, played 19 seasons with the Vikings and was known for his durability, playing in 282 consecutive games. The team honored his toughness, camaraderie, and leadership. Marshall is credited with 130½ sacks, ranking him 22nd all-time.
