💨 Abstract
An underwater expedition discovered a network of tubeworms, mollusks, and microbes thriving in deep-sea trenches over 31,000 feet deep in the northwest Pacific Ocean. These organisms survive in extreme conditions, utilizing carbon and chemicals from the ocean floor. This finding challenges previous assumptions about life at extreme depths and opens avenues for further research on adaptation and survival mechanisms in such environments.
