💨 Abstract
Democratic Gov. Katie Hobbs surveyed the destruction from a wildfire along the Grand Canyon’s North Rim, calling for an investigation into the handling of the blaze. The fire, sparked by lightning, initially allowed to burn under a "confine and contain" strategy, intensified rapidly due to winds and heat. It has destroyed over 70 structures and charred more than 18 square miles, with 8% containment as of Saturday.
