💨 Abstract
The Walt Disney Co. sued the Hong Kong-based Red Earth Group, accusing it of trademark infringement by selling Mickey Mouse-themed jewelry. Disney alleges that Red Earth's "Mickey 1928 Collection," marketed under the brand Satéur, misleads customers into thinking the products are official Disney merchandise. Although the earliest version of Mickey Mouse is in the public domain, Disney retains trademark rights.
