💨 Abstract
A judge in Los Angeles has ordered prosecutors to justify why new evidence, alleging sexual abuse by their father, should not lead to a re-examination of the convictions of Erik and Lyle Menendez, who were imprisoned for murdering their parents. The new evidence includes a letter from Erik Menendez and a declaration from a former Menudo band member. If the judge grants relief, the brothers could face reduced sentences, a new trial, or even release from prison.
