đź’¨ Abstract
An Ulster County clerk in New York again refused to file a civil judgment from Texas against Dr. Margaret Carpenter, who prescribes abortion pills via telemedicine. Taylor Bruck cited the New York shield law that protects abortion providers. Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton claims New York's law violates interstate obligations. Democratic Governor Kathy Hochul denounced Texas involvement. The Texas case is one of two legal challenges against Carpenter that may test the state's shield law.
