💨 Abstract
David Pittman, 63, is scheduled for execution in Florida on Sept. 17 for stabbing his estranged wife's family and setting their house on fire in 1990. This will be the 12th execution in Florida this year, the highest annual total since the death penalty's restoration. Pittman was convicted in 1991 on three counts of first-degree murder, arson, and grand theft. Multiple appeals are expected.
