💨 Abstract
In August 2025, former University of Tennessee football coach Derek Dooley announced his 2026 Republican bid for the U.S. Senate in Georgia. Backed by Gov. Brian Kemp, Dooley aims to challenge Democratic incumbent Jon Ossoff, who is considered the most vulnerable Democratic senator. Dooley emphasizes his outsider status and Georgia common sense, seeking to unite with former President Trump, though no endorsement is yet confirmed.
