💨 Abstract
Jen Pawol is making history as the first woman to umpire a Major League Baseball game this weekend. The 48-year-old from New Jersey will work the bases in Saturday's doubleheader and the plate on Sunday between the Miami Marlins and Atlanta Braves. This milestone follows her experience in spring training games and comes decades after similar barriers were broken in other major sports like the NBA, NFL, and men's soccer World Cup.
