💨 Abstract
A rapidly spreading brush fire north of Los Angeles, dubbed the Canyon Fire, forced thousands of evacuations Thursday. The fire grew to 1.6 square miles in under three hours and remains uncontained. Ventura County recorded 4,200 residents and 1,400 structures under evacuation orders, with another 12,500 residents on alert. Firefighters attribute the fire's spread to hot, dry conditions and steep terrain.
