💨 Abstract

Protests in Serbia turned violent as demonstrators clashed with police in Valjevo and Belgrade. Protesters, angry over allegations of police brutality and corruption, threw flares and rocks, while police responded with tear gas. The unrest follows a train station tragedy and months of student-led protests demanding early elections. President Vucic, accused of autocratic tendencies, has refused the calls and accused protesters of foreign influence. The EU has urged calm and respect for peaceful assembly.
