đź’¨ Abstract
On April 30, 1975, reporters Peter Arnett, George Esper, and Matt Franjola of The Associated Press (AP) in Saigon stayed behind as the city fell to North Vietnamese forces. Despite initial apprehension, the North Vietnamese soldiers they encountered showed no malice, and the journalists continued reporting. The AP office was guaranteed safety by a Viet Cong photographer who had worked for them.
