💨 Abstract

The article discusses the role of Pope León XIV, then known as Robert Prevost, in addressing the widespread abuse scandal within the Sodalicio de Vida Cristiana (SCV) in Peru. The SCV, a powerful Catholic group with ties to Peru's elite, faced severe allegations of abuse, including sexual assaults and physical violence, which were detailed in a 2015 book by victim Pedro Salinas and journalist Paola Ugaz.
