In north-central Nigeria, heavy rainfall caused severe flooding in the market town of Mokwa, resulting in at least 151 deaths and displacing over 3,000 people. The flooding affected 500 households across three communities, leaving many residents waist-deep in water. The disaster occurred in Niger state, over 180 miles west of the capital, Abuja.
