💨 Abstract
Two leading weather agencies predict record or near-record global temperatures over the next five years, increasing the risk of deadly extreme weather events. There is a 70% chance that global warming will exceed 1.5°C, and an 80% chance that at least one of the next five years will be the hottest on record. This warming could trigger critical climate tipping points, such as irreversible ice melt and sea-level rise.
