💨 Abstract
Taylor Taranto, a military veteran involved in the Jan. 6 Capitol riot, was convicted in a bench trial for illegally possessing firearms near Barack Obama's home and making a hoax bomb threat. Prosecutors presented evidence of Taranto livestreaming in which he talked about "entrance points" to tunnels and reposted a message about Obama's address. Despite Trump's clemency acts erasing the Capitol riot charges, Taranto remains jailed due to public danger assessments.
