💨 Abstract

Human Rights Watch (HRW) criticized the U.S. deportation of 200 migrants to Costa Rica in February, stating they were expelled unjustly and held for two months with conflicting information. The migrants, originally from countries like China, Russia, and Iran, were given limited options: return to their home countries, seek asylum elsewhere, or stay in Costa Rica. HRW found that their rights to seek asylum and fair hearings were violated.
