💨 Abstract
On May 22, 2025, 11-year-old Lyan Hortúa was safely released after being kidnapped on May 3 by FARC dissidents in Jamundí, Colombia. The boy was reunited with his family in Valle del Cauca. The Defensoría del Pueblo, led by Iris Marín, facilitated his release and called on armed groups to protect children from conflict.
