On May 15th, 2025, María José Estupiñán, a 22-year-old model and communications student, became the latest victim of feminicide in Colombia. She was shot and killed at her home in Cúcuta by a man who lured her to the door with a false gift. The police are investigating, and it has prompted outrage and calls for justice from Colombian officials.
