đź’¨ Abstract

Dementia patients can greatly benefit from music therapy, which leverages music's ability to effect parts of the brain minimally impacted by cognitive decline. Music therapy, led by trained therapists, can be active (creating music) or receptive (listening). It improves mood, reduces agitation, enhances memory, and fosters better communication. Personalized playlists, intergenerational music sessions, and nature-enhanced experiences can be particularly effective.
