đź’¨ Abstract
Washington, D.C.'s restaurant industry is in crisis, with 44% of full-service casual restaurants expecting to close by the end of 2025. Factors like inflation, reduced federal foot traffic, crime, and pandemic recovery have contributed to this. However, the implementation of Initiative 82, which eliminates the tip wage system, has significantly accelerated the industry's decline.
