💨 Abstract
In 1985, photographer Doug Ischar captured the bygone era of Chicago's Belmont Rocks, a gay beach where men found solace and community amid the AIDS epidemic. His series, "Marginal Waters," now part of the "City in a Garden" exhibition at the Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago, highlights the beauty and intimacy of that time, contrasting with the devastating impact of AIDS.
