💨 Abstract
In June 2025, two U.S. citizens, Elzon Lemus and Brian Gavidia, were detained by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers, raising concerns about racial profiling and constitutional rights. Lemus, an electrician, was wrongfully detained during a traffic stop because he matched someone ICE was seeking. Video evidence shows that despite Lemus identifying himself as a U.S. citizen, he was handcuffed and searched for 25 minutes.
