💨 Abstract
Senator Miguel Uribe Turbay, a presidential candidate in Colombia, was attacked. His lawyer, Victor Mosquera, accused the director of the National Protection Unit (UNP), Augusto Rodríguez, of failing to provide adequate security. Mosquera stated that multiple requests for enhanced protection were ignored. Rodríguez admitted to potential security failures and lack of coordination between security teams. President Gustavo Petro and the Procuraduría General de Colombia have called for investigations into the incident.
