💨 Abstract

On June 5, 2025, CNN Argentina reported that the Argentine government announced it wouldn't fully transfer winter energy price hikes to households to prevent spikes in electricity bills and inflation, a decision made amidst an election period. Economist Julián Rojo stated that due to increased energy costs, temporary subsidies were needed. The government also planned to reduce subsidies in certain areas like private clubs and wealthy neighborhoods.
