💨 Abstract

Mexico's Environment Secretariat announced heavy rain alerts for southern states due to Tropical Storm Erick. Guerrero, Oaxaca, Chiapas, Veracruz, and southern Puebla are expected to face intense rainfall, strong winds, and high waves. There are concerns about landslides, river flooding, and inundations. Erick, formed off the Pacific coast, could strengthen into a hurricane before making landfall.
