💨 Abstract

June 6, 2024 marked the 80th anniversary of D-Day, the start of the Normandy landings, a pivotal moment in World War II. The operation, codenamed Overlord, involved over 150,000 Allied troops landing on five beaches in Normandy. Despite heavy losses, especially at Omaha Beach, the Allies successfully established a foothold, leading to the liberation of France and the eventual defeat of Nazi Germany.
