💨 Abstract
When treating newly pregnant patients, Dr. Kylie Fuller often receives inquiries about the safety of flying. For most uncomplicated pregnancies, flying is generally safe up to about 34 weeks, but risks and precautions vary. Pregnant travelers’ risks change through the three trimesters, being lowest during the second trimester and increasing in the third. Healthcare professionals advise taking safety precautions, such as staying hydrated, wearing compression socks, and moving around frequently.
