💨 Abstract

In July 2025, Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney announced that Canada will recognize a Palestinian state in September during the 80th United Nations General Assembly. The decision aligns with promises from France and the UK, pending conditions including a ceasefire in Gaza. Carney stated that the Palestinian Authority has committed to necessary reforms and elections in 2026, excluding Hamas. The move aims to support a two-state solution, ensuring peace and security for both Israel and Palestine.
