💨 Abstract
Thousands of U.S. federal health agency employees were dismissed on July 14, 2025, following a Supreme Court decision that allowed the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) to proceed with a portion of its workforce reduction. The HHS had planned to eliminate 10,000 positions across agencies like the FDA, CDC, and NIH, with some employees retaining their jobs temporarily due to another legal case.
