💨 Abstract
In 1952, the de Havilland Comet made history as the first jetliner to carry fare-paying passengers. The Comet revolutionized aviation with its speed and comfort, dramatically improving over propeller-driven planes. The aircraft, with four Ghost turbojet engines and a pressurized cabin, flew high above typical turbulence levels. However, the Comet faced numerous fatal accidents due to structural issues, particularly with its fuselage integrity.
