💨 Abstract
Approximately 13 million U.S. adults experience post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) annually, characterized by intrusive memories, flashbacks, fear, and social avoidance. PTSD can affect anyone and significantly disrupt daily life and relationships. Supporting a loved one with PTSD involves understanding their triggers, staying calm during episodes, and offering practical help. Daily support includes listening, being patient, and encouraging professional help. Caregivers should also prioritize their own well-being to sustain support.
