💨 Abstract
More than 200 firefighters are battling an out-of-control wildfire in Crete, Greece, amid record-breaking temperatures and strong winds. The fire, which started near Ierapetra, has forced the evacuation of over 1,500 people, including tourists. The blaze has reached homes, hotels, and other tourist accommodations. Authorities have warned that July, typically the hottest month, will see intensified fire risks due to extreme heat and winds.
