💨 Abstract

One year after the assassination attempt on Donald Trump, the Secret Service faces deep frustration and a lack of accountability. Board investigations and federal reports uncovered multiple security failures during the July 2024 rally in Butler, Pennsylvania. Despite these findings, only six low-ranking Secret Service employees were disciplined, while key figures, including Sean Curran, the highest-ranking agent that day and now the director, were promoted. This has fueled perceptions that higher-ups are evading blame.
