💨 Abstract
Glacial melting in Suicide Basin, Alaska, has caused a river to reach record levels, threatening significant flooding in Juneau for the third consecutive August. The water surge, resulting from an avalanche in the glacier, has led authorities to recommend evacuations in flood-prone areas. The Mendenhall River is expected to peak around 5 meters, surpassing previous records.
