Senator Miguel Uribe Turbay of Colombia, a presidential candidate, died at 39 after being critically wounded in a gun attack on June 7 during a political event. His wife, Maria Claudia Tarazona, shared a heartfelt message on Instagram. Uribe was a close associate of former President Álvaro Uribe Vélez and a critic of President Gustavo Petro. Six individuals, including a minor alleged to be the shooter, have been detained for the attack.
